Mexican Honeymoon & My Favorite GoPro Products

Alright, let’s start off by addressing the elephant in the room. Yes, I am fully aware of the fact that we left for our honeymoon like 3 months ago and therefore, this post is LONG overdue (haha). But you know how summers are! One day it’s June and you’re lounging at the beach with a cold beer in hand, and the next minute it’s September and there are Back-To-School sales on every corner. What can I say, time flies when you’re having fun, right?

Anywho, the good news is that our Honeymoon Highlight video is finally up! Horray! You can watch the video below and see just about everything we did on our Mexican Honeymoon. Don’t worry…it’s PG rated.

Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show! Popcorn and sodas not included.

I wrote a blog post earlier in the summer reviewing the resort we stayed at as well as a full overview of our trip! You can find the full blog post here! Beware…it’s a long read (haha). And if you’re heading out on your own honeymoon, be sure to check out my Honeymoon Packing List!

Now…onto our camera gear

Every shot you see in our Honeymoon Highlight Video was taken with the GoPro Hero 5 and our favorite two accessories. We received our GoPro as a wedding gift from my parents and it quickly became something we couldn’t live without. As you can see from the video, we took this thing everywhere! And with the two accessories I’m going to show you, you’ll be able to tell how easy it is to bring and use a GoPro while doing just about anything.

GoPro Hero 5

I don’t need to get into crazy detail about GoPros since I’m guessing most of you know what all the fuss is about. However, I do want to touch on a few things that are specific to our model. For starters, it has 4K video and 12MP photos in Single, Burst, and Time Lapse. For those of you who have no idea what these numbers mean, it just means your video clips and photos will be pro-quality. Another cool feature it has is voice control and stabilized video, making this model super user-friendly. Also, the camera is waterproof by itself, meaning you don’t need a separate waterproof housing in order for you to bring it into the water. You can also preview and playback all of your shots, trim your footage, and modify settings all right on the GoPro. AKA…this camera is the bomb.com!

GoPro 3-Way Arm Grip

The first accessory I would always recommend spending your money on is one of these bad boys right here! This particular accessory is well worth the money because you are getting multiple tools in one. The 3-in-1 design allows you to use this as a camera grip, extension arm, or tripod. It’s ideal for when you want to get a selfie while sightseeing, or if you want a shot of you and your sweetie and don’t feel like asking a stranger to take your photo (haha).

The folding arm is perfect for getting those POV or follow-cam shots and if you detach the arm, the handle doubles as a camera grip. Stored inside the handle is a mini tripod that can be used by itself or attached to the arm. The whole thing is waterproof, lightweight, and extremely user-friendly. Not to mention, there are a number of configurations that you can try out with this accessory!

TELESIN Rotary Clip

The second accessory that I believe is a must-have for any GoPro user is one of these 360° clips. I would normally recommend sticking to accessories that are made by GoPro because they are usually sturdier, designed specifically for your particular camera, and are overall just well-made items. However, this clip is extremely strong, durable, and for under $10, it’s quite a steal! If you’re looking to capture your experiences without having to hold your GoPro or even think about filming, this is definitely the way to go.

The clip allows you to secure the camera to your backpack, belt, harness, hat, or anything else you are wearing. We even clipped them to our lifevests when we were out on the water. That’s how we got the footage of us on the paddleboards and kayaks without having to hold the GoPro! It makes for a perfect point-of-view shot! The clip has a 360° design, allowing you to get every possible angle while resting your GoPro comfortably. The entire clip is made from high-quality materials, is strong, tight, and easy to attach.

And there you have it! I hope you enjoyed our Honeymoon Highlight video! But more importantly, I hope the video allowed you to reminisce about the amazing summer you just had…because you’re probably busy Back-To-School shopping or currently trying to decide which size Pumpkin Spice Latte you want to order today.

If you’re already an avid GoPro user, what are some accessories that you can’t live without? I have some trips coming up this Fall, so I am always looking for more recommendations or suggestions!

Have an awesome Hump Day!
