Okay, it’s official…I think this may be one of my favorite DIY projects EVER! I have been wanting a patched denim jacket to wear to Ryan’s games for a few years now, but could never bring myself to spend the money on one. Especially because the price tag on some of these is upwards of a few hundred dollars!
So, during the off-season, I decided to gather some supplies and make one myself! And let just say, I am BEYOND pleased with how it turned out! It’s the Game Day jacket of my dreams. And the best part is, I have a little piece of everything on it! Of course, I included Ryan’s name and number on the back to look like “jersey” style, and I also included a “Mrs” under the collar. In addition to that, I added an American flag, a soccer ball, a husky for Jax, some bumble bees for our B girl, and a bouquet of lavender for my love of essential oils. Basically…it’s me in jacket form!
Furthermore, as soon as I gave birth to my mini-me, I knew I HAD to get her a matching jacket as well. So, I scooped up a baby-sized denim jacket and I made her an almost-identical version for herself! Now us 2 girls will be hooked up and ready for the season!

Making these jackets was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be. Honestly, the hardest part was narrowing down exactly which patches I wanted to buy! There were too many fun choices (haha). So, even if you don’t think you’re the craftiest person in the world, I encourage you to give this project a try. It’s fun, unique, and no matter what you decide to do, you can’t really mess it up!
