Chocolate and peanut butter for breakfast? Can I get an “amen”?! I have been on the hunt for a yummy and nutritious breakfast smoothie for quite some time now. For those of you who do not know, I have a pretty severe allergy to many fruits and vegetables. Therefore, finding a smoothie that is healthy but also delicious has been a big challenge for me.
If you’re anything like me, eating a large breakfast first thing in the morning is near impossible! It usually takes me a few hours after I wake up to actually have an appetite and be in the mood to eat something. But, if you’re running out the door in the morning or have a busy day ahead of you, skipping breakfast is just not an option. Cue the breakfast smoothie!
This smoothie is full of nutrients and tastes like a creamy milkshake. Need I say more? Not to mention, it literally keeps me full well into the afternoon (and this is coming from a girl who can eat the same amount as her pro athlete husband). It is super easy to make, takes only a few minutes to prepare, and I know you’re going to love indulging in this morning treat just as much as I do!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of almond milk
- 1/4 cup of peanut butter
- 2 overripe bananas (that’s what adds the sweetness), peeled, sliced, and frozen
- 2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 3/4 cup of ice
- 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
Directions:
- Combine all ingredients in a blender and mix until smooth.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
