My Go-To Meatball Recipe

Happy Thursday, friends! If you’re looking for something yummy to whip up for the chilly weekend ahead, I have the perfect recipe for you to try. These homemade meatballs are to die for! I have made these meatballs a few times now and I am finally confident that I have perfected them…and I think Ryan agrees (haha).

I love this recipe because it’s something you can prepare early on and then slow-cook for the entire day! Not to mention, everyone in your house will be drooling over the smell of meatballs all day long! These are also great because I feel like they are relatively easy to make and depending on how large your family is, you might be able to get a few meals out of them. With the cold and gloomy weather we have been having, I thought these would make for the most perfect warm and cozy weekend meal!

So, without further ado, let’s get these balls rollin’!

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, diced finely
  • 1/2 cup of breadcrumbs
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup of grated parmesan cheese
  • 2-3 cups of your favorite pasta sauce, or more if desired

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients except pasta sauce in a bowl and mix well
  2. Roll meat mixture into balls
  3. Place meatballs into a skillet and brown on all sides
  4. Remove meatballs from skillet and place all meatballs into a large stock pot or slow-cooker
  5. Pour pasta sauce over the top of the meatballs
  6. Carefully stir as needed- be careful not to break the meatballs
  7. For stock pot: cover and cook on low for approximately 2 hours
  8. For slow-cooker: cover and cook on low for 5 hours, or high for 3 hours

Notes:

  • Recipe makes about 30 meatballs

And there you have it! Pretty simple, huh? You can serve these meatballs over spaghetti, in grinder rolls with mozzarella cheese, or any other way you like! To me, there is nothing better than homemade meatballs, some pasta, and lots and lots of garlic bread. What can I say, I am a true Italian girl at heart!

If you make this recipe (which I highly suggest you do), let me know in the comments what you decided to serve it with and how your family liked it!

Buon Appetito!
