Goals For The New Year | 2019

Happy 2019, friends!

It has officially taken me three weeks to get my life in order after the craziness of the Holidays, but better late than never! Usually, I am not one to get super amped up about the start of a new year. I mean, it’s just like any other day, right? But for some reason, this particular year is definitely giving me a new perspective on things. Over the course of the past few weeks, I have been getting so excited about what 2019 will bring, and thinking about where we will be this time next year is getting me really pumped up!

I have to admit, I’m not much of a “resolutions” type of gal, but I do love me some good old-fashioned goal setting! I sat down, took a hard look at the direction my life is taking me right now, and figured out EXACTLY where I want to be at this time next year. So, I came up with a list of goals for the new year that will help get me get there! With that being said, I am super excited to share my plans for the new year with all of you! Here is what I am shooting for in 2019:

 Goals For 2019

Stress less about the little things

If you know me in real life, you know that this one might be the hardest goal for me to achieve in the new year (haha). I have a tendency to get stressed and anxious about the small stuff. You know, the things that seem like a really big deal but in the grand scheme of life, they really don’t matter AT ALL. This year, I’m making it a goal of mine to let the little things go and focus on what truly matters. I’ll definitely be slathering myself in all the calming and emotionally supporting essential oils to help me with this!

Stop comparing myself to other women and their successes

Now I know I’m not the only one who is guilty of this, but I am determined to rid myself of these toxic thoughts and comparisons this year! I think with the help of social media, it is really easy to get caught up in the game of comparison. We are constantly bombarded with listening to people talk about their triumphs and looking at perfectly curated images depicting various aspects of their lives. However, we have to remind ourselves that these texts and images are only a small piece of someone’s life. After all, who talks about their failures on Instagram? Not many!

I am also making it a point to remind myself that everyone has a different journey and timeframe in life. Just because some other woman started a business and found instant success doesn’t mean I have failed if I can’t replicate that in the same timeframe. We have to trust that we are exactly where we should be at this moment and know that we are following our intended path.

Continue to grow my business

Building off of what I just mentioned, I am looking forward to continuing to grow my own business with Young Living throughout the upcoming year. If you’re new around here, in 2018 I made it a goal of mine to start living a healthier and cleaner lifestyle. I wanted to ditch a lot of the toxic products in our home and switch to safer alternatives for the sake of our health. Cue Young Living! I began using essential oils and plant-based products in our home last year and it was, by far, the best decision I ever made. I’ll probably do a whole blog post on this soon, so stay tuned!

Anyways, a few months into using my oils and products from Young Living, I decided to become an Independent Distributor. Ever since, I have been working towards bringing these amazing bottles of plant power into as many homes as I possibly can. Each month I have steadily grown my business and added more families into our oil tribe, so I want to continue this momentum in the new year!

Be less shy in social situations

Okay, I have to say that I am dreading this one! However, it is something that I really want to work on this year. For some reason, I am getting more and more shy as I am getting older. Maybe it was the move to Europe that started this, or maybe it was something else. Who knows?! But, I am definitely not a fan of how shy and reserved I have become over the last few years. I am making it a goal of mine this year to get out of my comfort zone a little more and be more social. As much as I would rather continue to be a homebody, I think this will be good for me!

Be more intentional in my time with Ryan

I mentioned this goal to Ryan a few weeks back and his response was, “What the heck do you mean by that” (haha). I proceeded to explain to him that while we do spend a lot of time together each day (thank you, soccer), I want to make it a goal of mine to be more intentional with our time together. To me, that means more date nights, more quality time, and more activities together, as opposed to just hanging on our couch with our iPhones. Now, just because I want to plan more dates and activities together, that doesn’t mean I intend on going all out every time! There are plenty of things we can do to have date night at home together. We can easily find ways to have real quality time together, while still keeping things somewhat low-key.

Get back on track with diet, exercise, and water intake

It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t at least touch upon this topic, right? (haha). I mean, doesn’t everyone vow to step up their diet and exercise game each New Year’s? Yeah, well I’m jumping on the health train and doing the same! I definitely do not have any specific diet or exercise goals that I must achieve. However, after the nonstop eating over the Holidays, I have to say, I am looking forward to eating healthier meals and getting back into my home workouts!

Not to mention, every.single.year I make it a goal of mine to increase my water intake. I never feel like I am drinking enough water throughout the day, so every year I make an effort to change that. Keyword being “effort” here (haha). Well, this year I actually have a PLAN to make this happen. This year, I am pulling out the big guns and I am going to be adding some of my Vitality Essential Oils from Young Living into my water to give it a bit of taste. We’ll see if that works!

So, what are you shooting for in 2019? Did you make a New Year’s Resolution, or are you more of a goal-setter like I am? Comment below!

I want to wish you all a blessed, happy, and health New Year (even if I am 3 weeks late haha). May it be your best year yet!
