This weekend, Jax turns 2! Since this is the first birthday we are celebrating with our fur baby, we decided to make this one a bit special. The past 8 months with Jax has honestly been so amazing! He has left such a big pawprint on our hearts and he has really made us into a family. Therefore, we felt that he should get to celebrate his birthday with his very own treat- doggie cupcakes!
This dog cake recipe is so simple to whip up and you might be lucky enough to find all the ingredients in your kitchen already! This was the first “dog cake” recipe I have ever tried to make and I don’t see myself trying another one any time soon! Jax was IN LOVE with these. I honestly couldn’t stop him from drooling over them and then proceeding to scarf them down. You can see for yourself in the photos below! Since I had so much success with this recipe, I’m excited to share it with you so that you can celebrate your four-legged friend’s birthday the way it should be celebrated…with cake, of course!

I hope your pups love this dog cake recipe as much as Jax does! Ryan and I have to work on making more friends with people who have dogs so we can throw a proper party (with dog guests, of course) next year. Do you celebrate your dog’s birthday? If so, what does your celebration look like? Let me know in the comments below!

Thanks so much for this recipe. My pup LOVES these. Tomorrow is his 2nd birthday and I just put a batch in the oven for him!
How many cupcakes does it yield? What size pan do you use to bake a cake?
I chose to make cupcakes instead of a cake so I just used a regular cupcake tin. And it made about a dozen cupcakes!
This is perfect because my girl loves her carrots!
