We’re Having a Baby!

I can’t even believe I’m typing these words right now! Baby Malone is due in early April and we could not be more excited. I am thrilled to finally be able to share the news, and we are ready to shout it from the rooftops! This has been such a hard secret to keep over the last few months. But, if I’m being totally honest with you guys, I definitely would not have been able to keep this a secret much longer, considering my baby bump seems to be growing by the day!

As excited as I am to share the news with all of you, a part of me has enjoyed having this little secret with Ryan. It’s been amazing to have some time to really digest the news, let it all sink in, and start to plan for this baby before anyone knew about it. It’s been such a special few months and definitely a time I will never forget. Marrying Ryan was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life, and being his wife has brought me so much joy. I know that being the mom to his child and raising this baby with him will be another level of happiness I never thought possible!

So, where do I even begin?

Well for starters, I am currently 12 weeks along and I am happy to announce that I am feeling fantastic! I have been fortunate enough to have had a fairly easy pregnancy (so far) with not many things to complain about. This is definitely a HUGE blessing that I do not take for granted!

I’m not sure if I would consider the timing of this pregnancy to be overly perfect or utterly stressful. Ryan and I found out I was pregnant about 2 weeks after we moved into our new home here in Lübeck. Crazy, right?! As if signing with a new team and moving to a new city wasn’t exciting enough…heck, let’s throw a new baby into the mix to really kick it up a notch! Hey, at least we’ll always have a special and permanent souvenir of our time spent in Leipzig! Thank goodness we moved into a home that had a spare bedroom in it (haha).

I have had 3 doctor’s appointments so far with ultrasounds done at each one. It’s crazy to see how quickly the baby grows in those first few weeks and months. Following along with what the baby is developing each week has been one of my favorite parts of pregnancy so far! It’s also been really interesting to see how differently things are done here in Germany when it comes to pregnancy and childbirth. I’ll definitely share more about this at a later date but for now, all I have to say is, WOW…Germany has their sh*t together!

Thanks so much for following along! We can’t even begin to tell you how excited we are to share this news with all of you! Both Ryan and I are feeling so lucky and blessed that God chose us to be the parents of this sweet baby- it feels like such an honor and a privilege. This little nugget is already so loved and we cannot wait for this next chapter of our lives.
